Factors affecting the IPO of vietnamese companies on the HoSE

Abstract

Business leaders have strategic visions, and they seek ways to expand their business activities. Hence, they consider and realize the importance and usefulness of mobilizing capital from outside their businesses, especially from the stock market. Companies that have not yet been listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) always want to do an initial public offering (IPO) successfully in order to mobilize capital from the stock market. Based on previous research, theory, legal documents, and practice, this study uses qualitative and quantitative research methods to develop a research model, measurement scales, and identify the factors affecting the IPO of Vietnamese companies on the HoSE. In this study, 208 individual investors and issuance consulting organizations in Vietnam are surveyed. The study finds that there are five factors affecting the IPO of Vietnamese companies on the HoSE. Based on the study's findings, some recommendations are made to help Vietnamese companies successfully do an IPO on the HoSE.
