Vietnam’s rubber industry development: Some solutions and recommendations to resolve existing difficulties for rubber exports

Rubber is one of the industrial crops that plays an important role in Vietnam's agriculture industry. Since its appearance in Vietnam, rubber has brought many values, not only in terms of economic but also ecological benefits. Rubber has become an important and widely exported commodity in Vietnam, contributing to the development of the country’s economy. In 2021–2022, rubber was among the top agricultural products exported by Vietnam, with an export turnover of three billion USD, making Vietnam one of the largest rubber exporters in the world. Vietnamese rubber products are exported to more and more markets. However, in the last months of 2022 and early 2023, due to many economic and political factors, rubber exports have faced difficulties. This paper introduces the development of rubber in Vietnam, its achievements, and its existing difficulties. Based on the paper’s findings, some recommendations and solutions are proposed to facilitate Vietnam’s rubber exports in the coming years.
