Peer-to-peer lending activities towards the goal of comprehensive finance
Published: July 22, 2026
Abstract
Peer-to-peer lending is a fintech model that has operated in Vietnam with the orientation of connecting investors and borrowers for small loans. Meanwhile, Vietnam is putting efforts into achieving the goal of comprehensive finance, especially after the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 149/QD-TTg dated January 22, 2020, on the approval of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy in Vietnam until 2025, with a vision towards 2030. This paper analyzes peer-to-peer lending activities and financial access to assess the development potential of this financial model in Vietnam. Based on the paper’s findings, some solutions are proposed to help this model expand in the future, contributing to the goal of comprehensive finance.
