Factors affecting the decision of heads of households that have recently escaped from poverty to borrow money in Vietnam

Abstract

This study is to explore the impact of personal financial literacy on the probability of borrowing money from Vietnam's Social Policy Bank and the probability of borrowing money from unofficial private credit channels. The study’s research object is heads of households that have recently escaped from poverty in Vietnam. This study is expected to provide a basis for management implications as well as policy recommendations to promote the financial literacy of households that have recently escaped poverty, encourage them to acccess loans from Vietnam's Social Policy Bank and keep them away from unofficial private credit channels. As a result, it can contribute to reducing poverty and promote sustainable economic development of households in Vietnam.
