Using ARIMA and SARIMA models to forecast the gold price

Abstract

Gold is a rare and precious metal and it plays an important role in the economy. Hence, it is necessary for businesses, investors, and also government units to forecast the gold price. This study explores the use of ARIMA model and SARIMA model to predict the gold price. These models are based on the time series data forecasting methods. This study uses the actual gold price over four years to analyze and assess these two price forecasting models in order to find the best prediction of gold price.
