Current situation and solutions to improve personal information security in online banking services at Vietnamese commercial banks

This study adopts a qualitative approach that combines the analysis and synthesis of secondary data obtained from the State Bank of Vietnam, the National Cybersecurity Monitoring Center, and relevant scholarly literature to assess the current state of information security in online banking services. The findings indicate that fraud, cyberattacks, and data theft are becoming increasingly sophisticated, while a considerable proportion of customers continue to exhibit limited awareness of cybersecurity risks. Although commercial banks have invested substantially in advanced security technologies, human error remains the leading cause of many information security incidents. Based on these findings, the study proposes a set of measures to strengthen the protection of personal information and enhance the overall security of online banking services in Vietnam.
