The role of the state economy in Vietnam’s digital era

In the context of digital transformation, the state economy continues to play an important role in maintaining macroeconomic stability, enabling development, and promoting innovation. This paper analyzes the Communist Party of Vietnam’s perspectives on the state economy, clarifies its concept and role in the digital era, and assesses its current performance in Vietnam. The study employs qualitative methods combining document analysis and synthesis, historical and logical approaches, descriptive statistics, comparison, and policy analysis. The findings identify several limitations and underlying causes affecting the effective performance of the state economy. Based on this assessment, the study proposes solutions to strengthen its role in the new development period and enhance its contribution to national digital transformation and the digital economy.
