Abstract
Based on theories of heritage capital, heritage tourism, and sustainable commercialization, this study approaches the Oc Eo site as a multi-component heritage capital capable of contributing to tourism service development in An Giang. The findings indicate that although the site possesses significant archaeological and cultural values, tourism activities remain largely limited to sightseeing, exhibition, interpretation, and heritage education. Service development, market linkage, community benefit sharing, and reinvestment for conservation are still limited. The study proposes solutions including standardizing heritage interpretation, developing cultural–archaeological products, improving supporting services, strengthening business linkages, promoting community roles, controlling commercialization risks, and ensuring reinvestment for conservation.
