Factors influencing consumers’ decisions to use cashless payment methods in Thai Nguyen Province
Published: August 14, 2026
Abstract
This study identifies the factors influencing consumers’ decisions to use cashless payment methods in Thai Nguyen Province. Data were collected from 232 valid questionnaires and analyzed using Cronbach’s Alpha reliability testing, exploratory factor analysis, and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived security, and promotions or incentives positively affect consumers’ usage decisions, whereas perceived risk has a negative effect. Among these determinants, perceived security exerts the strongest influence. The findings provide practical implications for banks, payment service providers, and regulatory authorities seeking to improve system security, simplify payment procedures, strengthen customer protection, offer appropriate incentives, and promote the wider adoption of cashless payment methods.
