Sustainable supply chain development among Vietnamese enterprises amid global trade volatility: Current status and solutions

Abstract

Amid global trade volatility and increasing sustainability requirements, sustainable supply chains have become essential for strengthening the competitiveness and adaptability of Vietnamese enterprises. Using secondary data from international organizations, regulatory authorities, and industry reports for 2024 - 2025, this study assesses the current development of sustainable supply chains in Vietnam. The findings indicate that enterprises continue to face high logistics costs, limited digital capabilities, weak supply chain linkages, and difficulties meeting environmental, social, and governance standards. Digital transformation, green logistics, stronger supply chain collaboration, and improved governance capabilities are identified as key factors for enhancing operational efficiency and resilience. The study proposes measures to improve logistics infrastructure, accelerate digitalization, promote green practices, strengthen domestic linkages, and support enterprises in meeting international sustainability requirements.
