The role of sustainable development strategies in enhancing the competitive advantage of manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam

This study analyzes the role of sustainable development strategies in enhancing the competitive advantage of manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam by assessing the current situation and proposing relevant solutions. The industrial and construction sectors currently contribute approximately 37.6% of GDP and more than 86% of the country’s export turnover; however, only about 35 - 40% of manufacturing enterprises have developed systematic sustainable development strategies. The adoption of environmental, social, and governance standards has enabled many enterprises to reduce energy costs by 10 - 20%, strengthen brand reputation, and improve their ability to participate in global supply chains. Based on these findings, the study proposes solutions including accelerating green transformation, investing in clean technologies, improving sustainable governance, and strengthening policy support to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises in the new development period.
