Abstract
This study examines the influence of Vietnam’s foreign economic policy on the attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI) since the Đổi Mới (Renovation) period. Building on existing studies that emphasize the dialectical relationship between policy orientation and investment flows, the analysis reviews key foreign economic policies articulated in Party documents and evaluates Vietnam’s achievements in attracting FDI over recent decades. The findings indicate that foreign economic policy has played a consistently positive and significant role in promoting FDI inflows to Vietnam. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of the policy foundations underpinning Vietnam’s FDI performance and the evolution of its international economic integration.
