Brokerage market share of securities companies on the HoSE and HNX exchanges (2023 - 2024): An Assessment and solutions

Abstract
The stock market serves as a vital channel for corporate capital mobilization and an important indicator of firms’ financial performance. In the 2023 - 2024 period, Vietnam’s stock market witnessed intensified competition among securities companies in brokerage services. This study analyzes the brokerage market shares of leading securities firms on the HoSE and HNX exchanges during 2023 - 2024. The findings highlight a notable expansion by securities companies affiliated with banking ecosystems and those adopting zero-fee strategies. The analysis provides insights into recent structural shifts in Vietnam’s brokerage market and their implications for the safe and sustainable development of the stock market.
