Vietnam’s economic landscape in 2025 and policy directions for development in 2026

Recent data indicate that the Vietnamese economy continues to expand significantly in terms of GDP size, production and business activities, financial market development, international trade, and labor force participation. Despite these positive trends, the economy also faces a range of challenges, including volatility in input costs, intensifying international competition, and growing instability in the global trading environment. Against this backdrop, the study examines the key strengths and structural weaknesses of the Vietnamese economy in 2025, providing an analytical assessment of current economic conditions and their implications for the country’s development trajectory toward 2026.
