Smart logistics and the restructuring of global supply chains: Implications for Vietnam

Abstract

Amid increasingly complex and unpredictable disruptions to global supply chains, production and business activities, particularly in highly open economies such as Vietnam, are facing substantial challenges. In this context, the adoption of smart logistics, integrating digital technologies, artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and automated systems, has emerged as a critical approach to enhancing supply chain resilience, reducing operational costs, and improving overall efficiency. This study examines the implications of global supply chain volatility, analyzes the role of smart logistics in strengthening the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises, and identifies key development trends and implementation barriers. By synthesizing theoretical insights and practical evidence, the paper contributes to a clearer understanding of how smart logistics can support enterprise adaptability and sustainable performance in an increasingly uncertain global environment.
