Impact of Foreign Debt on Vietnam’s Economic Growth

Abstract
With the linear approach, this study uses a secondary time series data set over the period from 1995 to 2019 to determine the impact of foreign debt, foreign direct investment (FDI) and official development assistance (ODA) on the economic growth of Vietnam. The study’s data set is collected from the World Bank and related agencies. The study’s experimental results show that foreign debt, FDI and ODA has a positive and significant correlation on Vietnam’s economic development. Based on the study’s results, some policy implications are made to help Vietnam improve the efficiency of of attracting foreign debt, FDI and ODA flows in order to gain positive impacts on the country’s economic growth in the coming time.
