The Contribution of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City to the State Budget

Abstract
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increasingly affirm their positions and roles in the national economy through their contributions to the country’s economic growth, job creation, improvements of employers’ welfare and quality of life. One of the greatest contributions of SMEs is their contribution to the state budget. This paper assesses the current contribution of SMEs in Ho Chi Minh City to the state budget, points out the achievements and limitations. Based on the paper’s findings, some policy recommendations are made to facilitate the development of SMEs and their contribution to the state budget.
