Assessing the stock market development through fundamental indices
Published: August 1, 2026
Abstract
Researches show that there are four main aspects to consider when assessing the development level of a stock market, namely the market size, the liquidity, the concentration and the link between the market and the actual performance of the economy. Some indices have been proposed the level of stock market development related to these four aspects. This paper summarizes the main indicators proposed in previous studies and proposes a new index to measure the link between the stock market and actual performance of the economy.
