Analyzing the factors affecting Vietnam's cashew nuts exports to the EU by using the gravity model

Abstract

This paper uses the gravity model to explore the factors affecting Vietnam's cashew nuts exports to the EU market. The paper uses a panel data including 240 observations in the period from 2005 to 2020 between Vietnam and 15 importing partner countries in the EU. This paper’s results show that the population size of Vietnam has the greatest influence on the export of cashew nuts from Vietnam to the EU. This factor is followed by the real exchange rate, the importing country's GDP and the WTO participation.
