Analyzing the implementation of the new Provincial Competitiveness Index in the South-central Coast and the Southern Key Economic Region

The new Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) of Vietnam objectively reflects the business community’s assessment about the interaction between businesses with local authorities. This neww PCI has been applied since 2022 and it will greatly affects the rank of provinces and cities across Vietnam. This paper is to analyze the implementation of the new PCI in the South-central Coast and the Southern Key Economic Region. This paper also highlights economic activities and continuing refom efforts of these two economic regions based on the new PCI.
