Factors affecting the capital structure of major energy companies in the world and valuable experiences for Vietnamese energy companies

Abstract
In this study, the 2007 - 2009 crisis period and the 2010 - 2014 post-crisis period of the global economy are analyzed. The study also analyzes the research model including factors affecting the capital structure of major energy companies in the world. The study finds out that tangibility, profitability, size, liquidity, tax shield, and debt are significant determinants of the capital structure of oil and gas companies in the world. This study draws some valuable experiences for Vietnamese energy companies in developing their capital structure.
