Solutions to handle the re-poverty issue in communes implementing the new-style rural area development program in Vinh Long province

The Communist Party of Vietnam and the Government of Vietnam always pay great attention to poverty reduction, especially poverty reduction in communes which are implementing the new-style rural area development program. However, the situation of falling back into poverty still occurs. With the goal of handling the re-poverty issue in communes which are implementing the new-style rural area development program in Vinh Long povince, this study is to explore the factors affecting the re-poverty issue. This study surveys 270 households, including poor households that have escaped poverty sustainably and households that have fallen back into poverty in Vinh Long province. Based on the study’s findings, some solutions are proposed to help Vinh Long province reduce poverty sustainably.
