Determinants of VietGAP tea production development in Tan Cuong commune, Thai Nguyen province
Published: June 28, 2026
Abstract
This study surveyed 120 tea-producing households in Tan Cuong Commune and employed descriptive statistics, comparative analysis, and time-series analysis to examine the determinants of VietGAP-compliant tea production. The findings indicate that technical factors, such as varietal selection, fertilization practices, pesticide application, and appropriate harvesting procedures, were highly rated, reflecting a relatively strong level of compliance among producers. In contrast, aspects related to production management and access to policy support remain constrained. The results further suggest that the development of VietGAP-oriented tea production depends not only on technical practices but also on capital availability and market capacity, underscoring the need for a comprehensive approach to enhance both sustainability and economic efficiency.
