Funding sources and technology innovation of Vietnamese companies

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of funding sources including bank loans, bond issuance and equity issuance on technology innovation of Vietnamese companies. This study finds out that external funding sources like bank loans are positively correlated with the technology innovation of Vietnamese companies. Meanwhile, bond issuance and equity issuance are negatively correlated with the technology innovation. Based on the study’s findings, some recommendations for Vietnam’s financial market are made.
