The Current Situation and Solutions for Developing the Electronics Industry in Vietnam

The electronics industry, which produces basic materials, plays a key role in the economy and has a strong spillover effect on other industries. In Vietnam, the electronics industry accounts for 17.8% of total industrial production, with its main outputs including electronic products, computers, and optical products. However, Vietnam remains at the early stages of the electronics value chain and continues to rely heavily on foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises. This paper analyzes the current situation of Vietnam’s electronics industry and proposes several solutions to promote its development in the coming years.
