Scientific Basis and Practical Experience for Developing the Value Chain of Safe Vegetable Products in Thai Nguyen Province

This study reviews the theoretical foundations of value chains, agricultural value chains, safe vegetables, and the specific characteristics of the value chain for safe vegetable products, including the key stakeholders involved throughout the chain. It also synthesizes practical experiences in developing safe vegetable value chains from several countries, notably Japan and Israel, as well as from Vietnamese localities such as Lam Dong Province and Ho Chi Minh City. Based on an analysis of the current situation, the study identifies major constraints at each stage of the value chain, proposes a development strategy, and determines the critical bottlenecks that require support for stakeholders across the entire safe vegetable value chain in Thai Nguyen Province.
