Developing a set of criteria to evaluate the sustainable tourism development

Abstract
Sustainable development is an inevitable socioeconomic development trend. Thanks to its rapid growth rate, the tourism has become one of the major sectors within the economy of Vietnam in recent years. It has become a driver of job growth and economic prosperity in Vietnam. However, Vietnam needs to find sustainable development ways for the fast-growing tourism activities. As a result, it is important to define criteria which assesses the sustainable development of tourism. This paper examines and proposes a set of criteria to evaluate the sustainable tourism development at the local level from an individual research point of view.
