Current development of production organization models associated with the New Rural Development Program in Thai Nguyen province

This study examines the role of production organizations in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the 2021–2025 period in Thai Nguyen province. Research findings show that the province has developed a diverse range production organization models, including cooperatives, cooperative groups, agricultural enterprises, household farms, and value chain linkage models. Among these, value chain linkages demonstrate the strongest growth, with an average annual increase of 19.79%, contributing significantly to income improvement, OCOP product development, and agricultural modernization. Household farms and agricultural enterprises also play an important role in livelihood diversification and rural economic development. Despite notable achievements-such as 94.2% of communes meeting the National Target Program on New Rural Development’s standards and 313 OCOP products, limitations persist, including small-scale operations, weak management capacity, reliance on state support, and vulnerability to natural disasters. The study highlights the need to strengthen production linkages, expand high-tech applications, and accelerate digital transformation to enhance production organization models effectiveness and sustain the National Target Program on New Rural Development’s outcomes.
