The role of women in household economic development in Vietnam

This study examines the role of women in household economic development in Vietnam, with a focus on their contributions to income generation, financial management, and livelihood organization. The findings indicate that women not only constitute a major share of the household labor force but also play a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding household economic activities. Despite these contributions, women continue to encounter significant constraints related to limited access to capital, insufficient technical and managerial skills, and the persistent burden of unpaid domestic work. Drawing on these insights, the study proposes several policy recommendations aimed at strengthening women’s economic capacity, improving their working conditions, and promoting gender equality in household economic development.
