The role of cooperatives in the production and business of agricultural products for farmers in Gia Lai province

The collective economic sector, with cooperatives at its core, plays a vital role in driving socio-economic development in Gia Lai province. Local cooperatives have actively supported their members through the provision of input materials, the application of advanced technologies, and participation in value chain linkages for key agricultural products. Despite these contributions, many cooperatives continue to face significant challenges, including small and fragmented operational scales, limited financial capacity, restricted access to credit due to insufficient collateral, and a shortage of qualified management personnel. This study analyzes the current status and operational constraints of cooperatives in Gia Lai and proposes a set of solutions aimed at improving their efficiency and sustainability in the context of the province’s ongoing economic transformation.
