Production diversification and income risk among agricultural households in Dak Lak province

Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between production diversification and income risk among agricultural households in Dak Lak province, using panel data from the Thailand–Vietnam Socio-Economic Panel (TVSEP) for the period 2007–2017. The findings reveal a significant relationship between production diversification and household income risk, as demonstrated through graphical and regression analyses. Specifically, diversification within the crop or livestock sectors helps reduce income risk by approximately 0.044%, indicating that diversified production serves as an effective risk management strategy. Based on these results, the study proposes several policy implications aimed at promoting diversification to enhance income stability and resilience among rural households in Dak Lak province.
