Social impacts of digital transformation in agriculture: Evidence from Vietnam

Digital transformation in agriculture has emerged as a key driver of sustainable development in Vietnam. Beyond its economic and technological effects, this transformation significantly influences social life by enhancing farmers’ quality of life, reducing the digital divide between urban and rural areas, reshaping labor structures, and contributing to food security. Nevertheless, the process also presents notable challenges, including technological inequality, insufficient digital skills, and the potential exclusion of older farmers. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the social impacts of digital transformation in Vietnamese agriculture and offers policy recommendations aimed at maximizing social benefits while mitigating adverse consequences.
