Barriers to implementing green logistics in Vietnam’s transportation industry: Analysis and solutions

According to the World Bank’s 2023 report, Vietnam’s logistics market has achieved an average annual growth rate of 14 - 16%, playing a pivotal role in boosting the country’s import and export performance in recent years. However, the industry is also characterized by high pollution levels, significant energy consumption, and substantial emissions. As a result, minimizing environmental impacts and advancing “green logistics” have become essential priorities within Vietnam’s sustainable development strategy. Green logistics is not only an inevitable trend but also a critical goal and key performance indicator for Vietnamese logistics enterprises striving for long-term, eco-friendly growth.
