Solutions for promoting freight transport on the Bac Ninh - Hai Phong inland waterway transport route

This study examines the Bac Ninh - Hai Phong inland waterway transport route, which serves as a critical link between Northern Vietnam’s key economic region and the international seaport system. Despite its strategic importance, freight transport along this route remains underdeveloped and faces numerous limitations that hinder its full potential. The study analyzes the current state of freight transport operations, identifying key challenges related to infrastructure, capacity, and regulatory frameworks. Based on these insights, the study proposes targeted solutions aimed at modernizing and enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of inland waterway transport along the Bac Ninh - Hai Phong route
