The Current Situation and Solutions for Green Credit Development in the Mekong Delta

Abstract
By examining the legal framework and the current status of green credit development in the Mekong Delta during the period 2018-2021, this paper summarizes the key achievements as well as the existing limitations in financing green credit development in the region. Based on the findings, the paper proposes several solutions to enhance the effectiveness of green credit development in the Mekong Delta. These include further improving the legal framework by the State Bank of Vietnam and relevant ministries and agencies, diversifying green credit products offered by commercial banks, and expanding green credit access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as individual borrowers.
