Criteria for assessing digital transformation levels in small and medium-sized enterprises in the retail sector: an overview

Abstract

Digital transformation has become an essential trend for businesses worldwide, reshaping industries and driving innovation. This study examines the characteristics and significance of digital transformation within the retail sector, focusing on small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Through a comprehensive literature review, the study explores existing criteria and models for evaluating the extent of digital transformation in SMEs, with a particular emphasis on retail enterprises. Building on these insights, the study proposes a refined set of criteria and models tailored to assess the digital transformation levels of retail SMEs, offering a valuable framework for both academic research and practical application.
