Vietnam-U.S. merchandise trade in the new development context

The United States is one of Vietnam's largest trading partners, particularly in key export sectors such as textiles, footwear, electronics, and agricultural products. The strengthening bilateral economic relationship has significantly contributed to Vietnam's export growth, economic development, and job creation. However, the evolving global trade landscape, driven by shifts in U.S. policies, trade tensions, and the restructuring of global supply chains, presents both challenges and opportunities for Vietnam's integration into U.S. supply chains. This study examined the policies influencing Vietnam-U.S. merchandise trade in this dynamic context and provided policy recommendations to further enhance and sustain the bilateral trade relationship.
