Development the Value Chain of Vermicelli Production in Cao Bang Province

Through assessing the vermicelli value chains of Nguyen Binh and Hoa An districts, this study finds that although the value chains have been established, the internal linkages of these value chains are quite loose. The study also finds that there are no production cooperation agreements between farmers and cooperatives for growing galangal and producing vermicelli. As a result, it is difficult to protect the brand name and improve the quality of vermicelli in these two districts. It is necessary to find synchronous solutions for management agencies, cooperatives, and farmers to increase the value of vermicelli in these value chains.
