Establishing organizations representing employees at the enterprise: Opportunities and challenges for the trade union in the new development context.

The Labor Code officially took effect on January 1, 2021. In the Labor Code’s Chapter XIII, Representative Organizations of Employees, it stipulates that employees in enterprises have the right to establish, join, and participate in the activities of organizations representing employees at the enterprise. This paper analyzed the commitments, opportunities, and challenges in innovating the activities of the trade union in Vietnam when establishing organizations representing employees at the enterprise. The paper also assessed the impact of the establishment of new organizations representing employees at enterprises. The paper is expected that organizations and individuals will better understand legal provisions on the implementation of commitments when Vietnam implements new-generation free trade agreements. The paper also pointed out necessary steps in the process of law enforcement and commitments during the country’s international integration process.
