Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic on Listed Companies in Vietnam

Abstract
This study explores the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on the performance of companies listed
on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) over the period
from the first quarter of 2019 to the fourth quarter of 2021. The study finds out that these following
factors: (1) Cumulative number of COVID-19 cases (Cumulativecases), (2) Number of new Covid
19 cases (NewCases), (3) Business size (Firmsize), (4) Financial leverage (Leverage), (5)
Tangibility of assets (Tangibility), and (6) Cashflow (Cashflow) all impact the performance of listed
companies in Vietnam.
