Using survey data collected from 300 small and medium-sized enterprises in Thai Nguyen Province, this study analyzes and assesses enterprises’ understanding of carbon credits. The findings show that enterprises have acquired a certain level of awareness of carbon credits and the carbon credit market, including their benefits, potential, and the challenges enterprises may face. However, enterprises’ awareness and knowledge of carbon credits remain limited, and they have not yet adequately prepared to meet related requirements. In addition, the study proposes several solutions to promote the development of the carbon credit market in the coming period.
