Impacts of migration, unemployment, and poverty rate on the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of the Mekong Delta region

Abstract
This study explored the relationship between factors, including migration, unemployment, poverty rate, and the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of the Mekong Delta region. The vector error correction model (VECM) was used to analyze secondary data collected from the Vietnam statistical yearbook over the years from 2007 to 2022 to determine short-term and long-term impacts. The study’s results showed that the number of migrants and poverty rate affect the GRDP both in the short and long terms, while the unemployment rate only affects the GRDP in the long term.
