Recycled textile products - the future trend of the textile and garment industry

Abstract

The textile and garment industry has caused serious impacts on the environment through its raw material use and waste management. As a result, it is necessary for countries, textile and garment manufacturers, and trading businesses around the world to shift from traditional production methods to a linear economic model and completely comply with the 3R principle (reduce, reuse, and recycle) to ensure sustainable development. It would facilitate the development of recycled textile products. However, it is not easy to implement this production model in the current period due to certain challenges from the market and consumers. Although there are still many difficulties, this is an inevitable trend to ensure the general development and growth of the textile and garment industry.
