Abstract
This study aims to identify the factors influencing farmers’ non-adoption of VietGAP standards in durian production in Can Tho City. The findings indicate that the main barriers include the high costs associated with VietGAP-compliant production, the relatively small price differential between VietGAP-certified and conventional products, and the unstable market demand for VietGAP products. In addition, complex technical procedures and the requirement to maintain production records are significant obstacles to farmers’ adoption of VietGAP standards. Based on these findings, the study proposes several solutions to encourage wider adoption of VietGAP standards among durian farmers.
