The fundamental economy and socio-economic development opportunities for Vietnam

In the current international economic integration, the Fourth Industrial Revolution has led to the development of fundamental economy. This is a new form of economic development, and it is based on three basic pillars, including biotechnology, physics and information technology, digital technology. The process of applying the platform economy associated with the digital economic strategy is an inevitable and objective development step for Vietnam. This paper analyzed the concept of platform economy and its characteristics. The paper also discussed some results and limits of the platform economy in Vietnam. Based on the paper’s findings, some solutions were proposed to overcome and create momentum for the development of the platform economy in Vietnam in the coming time.
