Developing a circular economy: International experiences and policy implications for Vietnam
Published: July 26, 2026
Abstract
The circular economy is gaining global importance, particularly in the face of depleting natural resources and growing environmental challenges. This study examines the successful experiences of developed countries, including Germany, the United States, Japan, and China, in implementing circular economy practices. It then evaluates the current situation in Vietnam, identifying key challenges such as the absence of a clear legal framework, outdated recycling technologies, and limited public awareness. The study offers practical solutions for overcoming these challenges and facilitating Vietnam's transition to a more sustainable development model.
