The impact of institutional pressure on technological innovation and employees' psychological well-being in Vietnam's banking sector

Abstract
This study investigates the impact of institutional pressure on technological innovation and employees' psychological well-being in Vietnam's banking sector amid digital transformation, with a focus on the moderating role of perceived organizational support. Data were gathered through an online survey and analyzed using PLS-SEM in SmartPLS 4. The findings reveal that institutional pressure significantly drives technological innovation, with coercive pressure exerting the strongest influence. Moreover, the relationship between technological innovation and
psychological well-being follows an inverted U-shape, initially enhancing well-being before reaching a threshold where the effect turns negative. Based on these insights, the study proposes policy recommendations to foster workforce sustainability and balance innovation with employee well-being.
