Financial efficiency of purple sweet potato cultivation model among farmers in Binh Tan district, Vinh Long province

This study examines the financial efficiency and key factors influencing the profitability of purple sweet potato cultivation in Binh Tan district, Vinh Long province. Data were collected from 150 households across three communes using a convenient random sampling method. The findings indicate that while purple sweet potato farming is generally profitable, financial efficiency varies significantly among households. Multivariate regression analysis reveals that productivity, selling price, and farming experience positively impact profitability, whereas fertilizer costs, pesticide expenses, and labor costs have negative effects. Based on these insights, the study proposes solutions, including improving seed quality, diversifying distribution channels, increasing mechanization, and enhancing agricultural extension services to optimize financial efficiency for purple sweet potato farmers in the region.
