Improving the efficiency of public investment disbursement: Current situation and experiences from Ho Chi Minh City

Public investment disbursement plays a crucial role in driving economic growth, strengthening social security, and developing technical infrastructure, thereby laying the foundation for sustainable development. Despite its importance, the disbursement of public investment in Vietnam, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City, continues to face several challenges, including inefficiencies in capital management and utilization. These issues have led to disbursement outcomes that fall short of expectations. This study analyzes the current state of public investment disbursement in Ho Chi Minh City, identifies existing bottlenecks, and proposes solutions to improve the legal framework and management practices for public investment projects. The findings aim to enhance disbursement efficiency and support broader socio-economic development goals.
