Applying digital marketing to promote tourism in Ho Chi Minh City

Smart tourism is now an inevitable development trend, and the media is playing an increasingly important role in promoting tourism products and services. This paper analyzed theories and current tourism promotion activities in Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks to advances in digital technology, new approaches to reaching the target audience have developed. Digital marketing has become an indispensable part of every business field, regardless of size and type. The need for digital marketing is increasing in the tourism industry to help travelers instantly access the latest information and products. This paper analyzed the basic determining factors of digital marketing and the importance of these factors in the tourism industry. The paper also evaluated the current application of digital marketing in promoting tourism in Ho Chi Minh City.
